A true story of hope

I’ve always been in sports, mainly soccer. I used to play year round, and I’ve always been fairly active. I always enjoyed going out with friends. And then suddenly all of that came to a stop. I was hurting all the time. And this was when I was in college.

It was my rheumatologist who diagnosed me with psoriatic arthritis. I had had psoriasis since I was a child and it mostly affected my elbows and scalp. But psoriatic arthritis really changed my life. I was limited to what I was actually able to do.

“I just can’t tell you want a big difference REMICADE has made to my life.”

When my daughter was an infant, I would have to get help to bring her down the stairs. I could hardly hold a bottle for her. I couldn’t even go out and just walk the city with my family.

Then my rheumatologist suggested I try REMICADE. And frankly, I just can’t tell you what a big difference it has made to my life. With relief from my painful joint symptoms, I’m able to move around more normally.  I feel free from the world of chronic pain that joint symptoms had me trapped in.  And even my skin improved dramatically. I realized, before REMICADE, how much my disease weighed on me.

After my first few infusions I could clearly see the difference it made on my skin. It was such a relief to experiment with my wardrobe and try colors I hadn’t worn in years.

“I love just being able to walk around, carry bags, and not have to stop because my feet and ankles hurt.”

I was able to follow my daughter around when she started to walk.  And now, I enjoy taking her to the park…it’s such a pleasure. As I share such happy moments with my family, I often think, “I’m glad there’s a treatment like REMICADE.  I’m getting back to being me again and I feel so much better.”
